Gateway and Drew are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Gators will venture away from home to square off against the Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway is looking for their season's first victory.

Gateway fell victim to Marin Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Wildcats.

Drew came out on top against San Francisco Waldorf on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Wolverines. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Dragons yet this season.

Kyle Ebrado made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Drew is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Ebrado was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Magellan David was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Tobener, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Drew always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Drew and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Gateway came up short against Drew when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 14-10. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
