Swansboro had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Pamlico County on Wednesday. The Pirates blew past the Hurricanes 3-0. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Swansboro walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Maddie Staley, who had five digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024.

Staley wasn't the only good server: Swansboro was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Swansboro's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pamlico County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Swansboro has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Lejeune on the 19th. As for Pamlico County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against West Carteret on the 14th.
