Softball Recap: New Brighton Comes Up Short

New Brighton extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They lost 17-1 to the Neshannock Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 on April 7th.

As for Neshannock, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

For Neshannock's part, Callie Biondi was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Biondi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Paglia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

New Brighton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-0 win against Aliquippa on the 27th. As for Neshannock, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-2 loss against Laurel on the 23rd.
