Softball Recap: Grand Blanc Extends Road Winning Streak to 18

Grand Blanc strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Davison Cardinals with a sharp 13-1 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Savannah Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kate Mitchell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Green, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Grand Blanc kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Grand Blanc pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Davison, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Grand Blanc will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
