Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Estacado Matadors

The Liberty Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Estacado Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Estacado will be up against a hot Liberty squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Liberty blew past Levelland 48-25 on Tuesday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Lobos are ranked 587th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Estacado waltzed into their match on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They breezed by the Tigers to the tune of 76-26.

Liberty pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Estacado, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Liberty took a serious blow against Estacado in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 73-46. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
