Basketball Recap: Vanguard Academy Beethoven Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vanguard Academy Beethoven can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Lyford Bulldogs and fell 77-39. Vanguard Academy Beethoven hasn't had much luck with Lyford recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yandel Rosell, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 15 points. Rosell's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Delgado, who posted two points.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Lyford, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-7.

Vanguard Academy Beethoven does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lyford, they and Taft will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lyford is facing Taft at the right time seeing as Taft is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
