Mathews is 7-1 against Essex since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Blue Devils will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Mathews will be strutting in after a win while Essex will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Mathews turned things around against Northampton on Thursday. They came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, Essex was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Northumberland.

Mathews' victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Essex, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Mathews came out on top in a nail-biter against Essex in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
