Baseball Recap: Bear River Victorious

Bear River was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Center Cougars by a score of 6-2. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Cooper Berry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cooper Lunsford was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Nicholls, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Bear River's record now sits at 9-4. As for Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season.

Bear River will have a chance to go back-to-back against Center: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
