Sandy Creek hasn't had much luck against Milford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sandy Creek Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Milford Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Sandy Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Sandy Creek challenged Fillmore Central on Tuesday. Sandy Creek fell 67-58 to Fillmore Central.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ethan Shaw, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kamerin Sealey, who posted 18 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Milford made off with a 52-51 win over Centennial.
Sandy Creek better keep an eye on Landon Roth. He was instrumental in Milford's win, going 10 of 16 en route to 23 points. Roth continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Rautenberg, who had eight points and four blocks.
Milford was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only racked up eight assists.
Milford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.33 points across that stretch. As for Sandy Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sandy Creek has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sandy Creek took their victory against Milford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 57-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandy Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
