Bryce Hartman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Cassens, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Quincy hadn't done well against Quincy Notre Dame recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Blue Devils never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the contest before.
James Day was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Quincy is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-12 otherwise. Day was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Quincy got a massive performance out of Nate Konrad, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. The Blue Devils are undefeated when Konrad posts two or more runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Mason Dent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Quincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy Notre Dame only posted an OBP of .130.
Quincy's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.
Sterling came out on top in a nail-biter against Quincy when the teams last played on Monday, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Golden Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
