Softball Game Preview: Kingman/Norwich Eagles vs. Medicine Lodge Indians

The Kingman/Norwich Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Medicine Lodge Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kingman/Norwich has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Medicine Lodge will come in with four straight wins.

Kingman/Norwich made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pratt, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Greenbacks by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Addyson Belt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kingman/Norwich saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynlee Friess, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Medicine Lodge gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Belle Plaine as they made off with a 17-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Medicine Lodge pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Kingman/Norwich, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
