Baseball Recap: Kimball Has No Trouble Against Carter

Kimball gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Carter Cowboys. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aaron Lopez and William Carrigan made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lopez struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Carrigan didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kimball is 3-1 when Carrigan allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. At bat, Lopez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Carrigan scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Carrigan a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emiliano Maldonado, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Kimball: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JuanDiego Perez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Kimball kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carter only managed one hit.

The victory got Kimball back to even at 8-8. As for Carter, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
