It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Frankfort ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hampshire Trojans, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Lanson Orndorff was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

Orndorff wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Laffey, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Frankfort's record is now 13-6. As for Hampshire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Frankfort has already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Mountain Ridge on the 1st. As for Hampshire, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-4 victory against Berkeley Springs on the 1st.
