Baseball Recap: Reidsville Takes a Loss

Rockingham County hit Reidsville with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell 6-3 to the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 back in March.

Reidsville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kristian Scales, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Reidsville and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Rockingham County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-2.

Looking ahead, Reidsville will square off against T.W. Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.13 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rockingham County, they will challenge Northeast Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
