Football Recap: Carter Cowboys vs. Van Vandals
Carter kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Van Vandals by a score of 38-35. The Cowboys were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Vandals in the fourth quarter 8-0.
When it comes to explaining why Carter lost, don't look at Montraveon Smith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and four scores on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Boozer, who rushed for 141 yards while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

Carter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Traylor and Jeremiah Shaw. Traylor is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Shaw got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Carter will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Panther Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
