Basketball Game Preview: Albuquerque Bulldogs vs. Los Lunas Tigers

The Albuquerque Bulldogs will host the Los Lunas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Albuquerque is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Atrisco Heritage Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Albuquerque blew Atrisco Heritage Academy out of the water with a 64-19 final score. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Albuquerque's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lailah Bouldin, who went 8 of 11 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. What's more, Bouldin also posted a 73% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zaiyah Hawley, who posted seven points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Los Lunas faced off against Atrisco Heritage Academy on Tuesday. Los Lunas took their game with ease, bagging a 73-24 win over Atrisco Heritage Academy. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Los Lunas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Albuquerque, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
