It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Columbia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 32-18 win over East Jackson. The victory was nothing new for Columbia as they're now sitting on five straight.

Columbia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Czar Daniels, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 40 yards. Those 271 passing yards gave Daniels a new career-high. Columbia's leading receiver Damarion Davis was Daniels' top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Columbia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jamarion Davis. Another thorn in East Jackson's side was Martavious Burse, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Columbia's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for East Jackson, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Columbia will take on Burke County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,109 yards in their previous games. East Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
