Maize came tearing into Tuesday's game with 19 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Andover Central Jaguars as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Porter Newell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zane Brungardt was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Drake Blasi was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI.

Maize always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Maize's record is now 23-2. As for Andover Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Maize will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Golden Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. Andover Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
