Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Hamden Hall Country Day

While Hamden Hall Country Day's win against Greenwich Country Day wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past AJ Park, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Greenwich Country Day off the board. Park has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Billy Cole was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amato Civitello, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Hamden Hall Country Day pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwich Country Day, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
