Basketball Game Preview: Wendell Trojans vs. Gooding Senators

Wendell and Gooding are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Wendell Trojans will be playing at home against the Gooding Senators at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wendell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Gooding likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wendell beat Filer 65-60.

Jonathan Swainston was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 16 on his way to 30 points and three steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordon Swainston, who posted 17 points.

Meanwhile, Gooding didn't have too much trouble with Filer on Friday as they won 56-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Senators.

Gooding has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Wendell, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
