Softball Game Preview: Eau Claire North Huskies vs. Wausau East Lumberjacks

Eau Claire North is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Wausau East an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Eau Claire North Huskies will host the Wausau East Lumberjacks at 4:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Eau Claire North came up short against D.C. Everest and fell 4-1.

Ally Quaschnick put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Quaschnick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emma Goldbach, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those hits were Goldbach's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Wausau East sidestepped Shawano Community for a 5-4 win.

Eau Claire North's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wausau East, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
