Soccer Game Preview: Columbia City vs. Homestead

The Columbia City Eagles will face off against the Homestead Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Columbia City came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Leo, falling 4-0. Columbia City have struggled against Leo recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger kept up with Homestead until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Spartans never let the Saints get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering Homestead have won 11 contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Channing Xayarath and Braylee Morris scored all four of Homestead's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 36 goals.

Columbia City now has a losing record of 6-7-2. As for Homestead, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.

Columbia City suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Homestead in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
