Softball Recap: Pacifica Takes a Loss

Pacifica and El Modena squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Pacifica had to settle for second. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vanguards. The Mariners just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Kloe Lobato and Leyla Ayres did some serious damage despite the final result: Lobato went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Ayres went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Pacifica's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for El Modena, they pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Pacifica does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Modena, they will face off against Rosary Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Royals will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Vanguards surely won't give up without a fight.
