Softball Recap: Mcminn Central Wins Going Away Against Loudon

After only one run in their last match, McMinn Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Loudon on Friday. McMinn Central blew past Loudon 13-6. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Riley Thompson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayme Tiberio, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

McMinn Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

McMinn Central now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Loudon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

McMinn Central is facing Tellico Plains at the right time seeing as Tellico Plains is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Loudon, they will challenge Lenoir City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
