Soccer Recap: Santee's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Santee can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chavez Eagles on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Jehovany Alfaro, who's now up to two this season.

With the defeat, Santee broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five contests. As for Chavez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Santee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chavez, they will take on Hollywood at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hollywood will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Chavez surely won't give up without a fight.
