Apex and Apex Friendship are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Apex Friendship will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Apex extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Cougars never let Panther Creek get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Apex's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Panther Creek are ranked 285th).

Apex hit Panther Creek with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bianca Sirk (2), Ava Hunter, Abigail Lowe, and Eliana Butler.

Meanwhile, Apex Friendship entered their tilt with Green Hope on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 4-1 victory. With Apex Friendship ahead 4-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Apex's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Apex Friendship, their win bumped their record up to 12-5-1.

Apex couldn't quite get it done against Apex Friendship in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
