Basketball Game Preview: Melvindale Cardinals vs. Romulus Eagles

Melvindale is 1-8 against Romulus since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Melvindale Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Romulus Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Melvindale didn't have quite enough to beat Riverview and fell 56-54. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cardinals came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Pirates are ranked 307th).

Meanwhile, Romulus took a blow against Redford Union on Friday, falling 62-30. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Romulus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Melvindale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Melvindale took a serious blow against Romulus in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 74-38. Can Melvindale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
