Basketball Recap: Young Women's Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Young Women's Leadership Academy lost against Trinity Leadership back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Young Women's Leadership Academy Lady Owls had to suffer through a 43-16 loss at the hands of the Trinity Leadership Tigers. The Lady Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.

Trinity Leadership got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emani Taylor out in front who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Taylor a new career-high. Ja'Lee Standley was another key player, putting up 15 points.

With the loss, Young Women's Leadership Academy broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-14. As for Trinity Leadership, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Young Women's Leadership Academy will square off against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Madison has won ten straight at home, while Young Women's Leadership Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Trinity Leadership, they will take on Gateway Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
