Volleyball Recap: Roxana Takes a Loss

Roxana lost against Carrollton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Shells took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Josie Brannon paced Roxana's offense, picking up three kills. Brannon got some help from Daisy Daugherty and her nine assists. Finally, Brannon was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Roxana has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-21 record this season. As for Carrollton, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-4-1.

Roxana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Carlinville on the 18th. As for Carrollton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Metro-East Lutheran on the 18th.
