Football Recap: Overton Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

If Alto wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Overton, they should've done a better job of containing Rylan Holleman. The Mustangs breezed past the Yellowjackets to the tune of 47-3 on Friday thanks in part to Holleman, who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Overton's defense and their ten sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hunter Klima and Gunnar Whitfield, who racked up six sacks between them. Klima has become a key player for Overton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one sack, but 2-3 otherwise.

Overton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Alto, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coincidentally, Overton and Alto will both be playing Mt. Enterprise the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
