Softball Recap: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Comes Up Short

Academy of Our Lady of Peace extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-17 in the process. They came up short against the Christian Patriots, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Alayna Ma'Ake was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

As for Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

On Christian's side, they got a massive performance out of Lucy Sherburne, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Sherburne has posted since back in March. Sammy Baca was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against El Capitan on the 12th. As for Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 13th.
