Baseball Recap: Christchurch School Takes a Loss

Christchurch School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors, falling 16-8. The Seahorses were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ambassadors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Trey Fitchett was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Bull also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Christchurch School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Norfolk Christian, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christchurch School will face off against Fork Union Military Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norfolk Christian, they will take on Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something Norfolk Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
