Camden County has gone 9-1 against Manteo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bruins will welcome the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Camden County took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Hobbton 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-8, 25-21.
Camryn Underhill was the offensive standout of the match as she had five digs and four aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Camden County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Manteo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Rosewood on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Redskins as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.
Manteo was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17.
Manteo found their leader in sophomore Kabriya Spencer, who had ten digs and two assists.
Camden County's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Manteo, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Camden County has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 13 aces per game. However, it's not like Manteo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
