Basketball Game Preview: Howards Grove Tigers vs. Reedsville Panthers

Howards Grove and Reedsville are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Howards Grove Tigers duke it out with the Reedsville Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Howards Grove is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sheboygan Area Lutheran just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 58-50 to the Crusaders. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Reedsville also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Oostburg by a score of 66-58. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Flying Dutchmen: they've now lost four in a row.

Reedsville's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Howards Grove, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.

Everything came up roses for Howards Grove against Reedsville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 80-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Howards Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
