Baseball Recap: Churchill Comes Up Short

Churchill has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They lost 16-9 to the Edison Academy Pioneers. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Churchill's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6-1. As for Edison Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Churchill and Edison Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 57th) will meet Dearborn (ranked 352nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Edison Academy will face off against Trillium Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (68 vs. 492).
