Basketball Recap: Fillmore Central's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Fillmore Central was the 66-61 winner over Kingsland when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fillmore Central Falcons fell just short of the Kingsland Knights by a score of 72-70 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (60), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

Kingsland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Hubka, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Hubka continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Parker Johnson was another key player, going 8 for 18 on his way to 19 points.

With the defeat, Fillmore Central broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for Kingsland, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fillmore Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-71 win against Plainview-Elgin-Millville on the 16th. Kingsland has also already played their next matchup, a 92-39 victory against Lyle/Pacelli on the 14th.
