Basketball Recap: Morgan Comes Up Short

Morgan blew Valley Regional out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Valley Regional got their revenge. The Huskies fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Huskies have suffered since January 10, 2025.

Valley Regional was led to victory by Tavis Filacchione and Braden Evans. Filacchione went 11-for-20 to rack up 29 points, while Evans dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. Filacchione's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Player #41, who posted two points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.

Morgan now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Valley Regional, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Morgan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-61 loss against Valley Regional/Old Lyme on the 3rd. As for Valley Regional, they have also already played their next matchup, an 87-51 defeat against Old Lyme on the 4th.
