Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East Wake Academy

East Wake Academy entered their tilt with Franklin Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They managed a 45-40 win over the Franklin Academy Patriots. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

East Wake Academy was led to victory by Emma Roche and Leila Gonzalez. Roche dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards, while Gonzalez dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Roche is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Franklin Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addison Soles, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. Erin Collins was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

East Wake Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Franklin Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

East Wake Academy will square off against NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Franklin Academy, they will challenge Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
