Softball Recap: Alden Extends Winning Streak to Six

Alden put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Kennedy Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-4 on April 4th.

Alden let Brooklyn Jankowski and Lilly Bromstead run wild. Jankowski got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Bromstead went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Bromstead is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Samantha Waiss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Alden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Alden pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Coming up, Alden will challenge Griffith Institute at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Griffins have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Eden at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
