Basketball Game Preview: Clark Eagles vs. Mather Rangers

The Clark Eagles will take on the Mather Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clark will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Clark is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Chicago Academy, posting a 65-35 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mather, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Francis W. Parker on Wednesday.

Mather's win came from a few key players Clark will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kayrhianna Jackson, who posted eight points along with six boards and five steals. She also posted five blocks, which is notable because Mather is 10-3 when she posts at least three blocks, but 4-5 otherwise. Temi Yesufu was another key player, putting up six points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Clark is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.5 points. As for Mather, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Clark and Mather were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but Clark came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Clark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
