Recap: Aspen Skiers vs. Basalt Longhorns

The Aspen Skiers stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 51-23 victory over Basalt on the road. The victory was nothing new for Aspen as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

Aspen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Giovanni Seeman led the charge by scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Berro, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Basalt's loss came despite strong showings from Wyatt Loomis and Calum Inglis. Loomis scored 11 points along with three steals, while Inglis scored three points along with seven rebounds.

Aspen's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Basalt, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aspen's road trip will continue as they head out to face Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Grand Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Aspen is ranked 27th). As for Basalt, Basalt and Moffat County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
