Softball Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County and Ripley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Nicholas County had to settle for second. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 10-2. The Grizzlies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Makenzie Hanshaw was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.

Nicholas County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Ripley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Coming up, Nicholas County will head out to face off against Chapmanville Regional at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ripley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
