Softball Recap: Lakin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sublette on Monday, Lakin came back down to earth. The Broncs fell just short of the Larks by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The Broncs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Larks earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Sara Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Luna Vazquez, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Lakin moved to 4-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Sublette, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5-1 record this season.

Lakin will head out to square off against Goodland at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sublette, they will welcome Colby at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
