Preview: Alleghany Trojans vs. Starmount Rams
The Alleghany Trojans will be playing at home against the Starmount Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alleghany has now lost ten straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
Last Friday, Alleghany was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-32 to Elkin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alleghany in their matchups with Elkin: they've now lost seven in a row.
Alleghany's loss came about despite a quality game from Sarah Bare, who scored 13 points. Bare is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.
Meanwhile, Starmount unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 52-44 to South Stokes.
Alleghany's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Starmount, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-16.
Alleghany came up short against Starmount in their previous meeting on Wednesday, falling 66-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Starmount's Molly Swaim, who scored 34 points along with eight rebounds.
