Basketball Recap: Kinsey Bayer Key Part of a Team Effort in Colts Win

Cloverleaf hadn't done well against Woodridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cloverleaf Colts put the hurt on the Woodridge Bulldogs with a sharp 66-43 win. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cloverleaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinsey Bayer, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Bayer a new career-high in assists (three). Emma Hibler was another key player, as she made all 8 shots she took to post 18 points.

Cloverleaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Cloverleaf has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Woodridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Cloverleaf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-45 defeat against Field on the 30th. Woodridge has also already played their next game, a 59-25 loss against Norton on the 30th.
