Volleyball Recap: Sam Rayburn Takes a Loss

Sam Rayburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Dobie Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 25-21.

Arianna Pickett paced Sam Rayburn's offense, picking up five kills. Pickett got some help from Leah Hernandez and her 18 assists. Hernandez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Dobie, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sam Rayburn will challenge rival Pasadena Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dobie is set to take on their familiar foe Alvin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
