After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Athens Academy, Oglethorpe County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 28-19 victory over the Rabun County Wildcats. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Wildcats are ranked 134th).

Caden Hartrum was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and one TD.

When it comes to explaining why Rabun County lost, don't look at Ty Truelove. Despite the final result, he rushed for 82 yards and one score, and also threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs. Reid Giles was another key player, gaining 109 total yards and a touchdown.

Oglethorpe County moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Rabun County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, Oglethorpe County is taking a road trip to square off against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rabun County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Athens Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
