League recap: Watchung Hills Regional stuns Montgomery in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Watchung Hills Regional, who took down 126th ranked Montgomery, 18-13. ANTHONY PRUS ran for 177 yards in the win.

Ridge extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State 38 - Watchung this week by beating Plainfield, 31-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Red Devils.

Ridge's dynamic duo of Conor Hughes and Ryan Bell proved tough for the Cardinals to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hughes threw for 156 yards and one touchdown and Bell had 88 yards receiving. Evan Skea helped Ridge's passing attack out by catching three balls for 38 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Hughes of the Red Devils is the league leader in passing yards this season with 850. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, the Warriors' PRUS has rushed for 1049 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sam Oltmans. The Montgomery star has 32 catches for 423 yards.

Immaculata was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Spartans defeated North Hunterdon 29-19 earlier in the week.
