Football Recap: Des Moines North Drops Season-High Score on Perry

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Des Moines North). They strolled past the Perry Bluejays with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 30-13. The Polar Bears pushed the score to 30-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bluejays cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Perry lost, don't look at Nadir Ouahbi. Despite the final result, he rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Ouahbi was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.

The victory got Des Moines North back to even at 2-2. As for Perry, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Des Moines North and Perry will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Polar Bears will take on rival Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. Meanwhile, Perry is set to square off against their familiar foe Greene County at 7:15 p.m. on the 26th.
