Baseball Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Poston Butte Broncos

Horizon lost to Poston Butte back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Horizon Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Poston Butte Broncos. While the Huskies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cole Smith looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kanon Faseler was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Ethan Trahan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
